Porsche Wheel Alignment & Geometry

Correct wheel alignment and geometry are fundamental to how a Porsche drives, handles and wears its tyres. Small changes in suspension geometry can affect steering response, stability, tyre wear and the way the car behaves on the road.

When should Porsche geometry be checked?

A geometry check may be appropriate if your Porsche:

• pulls or drifts to one side
• has uneven or excessive tyre wear
• has an off-centre steering wheel
• feels unstable or different to drive
• has had suspension components replaced
• has suffered an impact with a pothole or kerb
• has had its ride height or suspension setup changed

Geometry is also particularly important following suspension repairs where replacement components can alter the vehicle’s alignment.

More than simply making the wheels point straight

Porsche geometry involves more than basic front-wheel tracking.

The relationship between the wheels and suspension affects how the vehicle steers, corners and maintains tyre contact with the road. The appropriate alignment settings also depend on the Porsche model and suspension configuration.

PMR therefore approaches geometry as part of the vehicle’s overall chassis setup rather than treating it as an isolated adjustment.

Uneven tyre wear and handling problems

Uneven tyre wear, pulling or unusual handling can be caused by incorrect geometry, but alignment isn’t always the underlying problem.

Worn or damaged suspension components, ride-height issues and other chassis faults can affect both alignment measurements and vehicle behaviour. Where appropriate, PMR can inspect the suspension and investigate the cause before carrying out the final geometry setup.

Suspension repairs and geometry

PMR carries out Porsche suspension inspection and repair alongside wheel alignment and geometry.

Where suspension components are replaced and the work affects alignment, the vehicle can receive the appropriate full geometry setup afterwards, allowing the repair and final chassis setup to be completed together.
